Sell my LHD: common questions
Will you take an LHD that is still on its foreign registration?
Yes. Steering-wheel-on-the-left cars with a UK V5C are welcome, and so are those still registered in Spain, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Poland, Switzerland, Scandinavia or the USA. Just list the documents you hold.
Must it be put on British plates before I sell?
No. It can come to us exactly as it is registered now. The DVLA side and the registration can be left to us.
Which LHD vehicles are you interested in?
Nearly everything between £100 and £100,000+: daily drivers, prestige and classic models, vans, pickups, 4x4s, campers, motorhomes, Teslas and other EVs.
When does the money arrive?
Our driver sends a bank transfer while standing with you, and it normally shows within minutes. The keys stay in your hand until the money has landed and you are content.
Do I pay anything for the pickup?
Nothing. A driver comes to your address, your workplace or wherever the LHD is parked, at a time you pick.
Will anything be taken off the price?
No. There is no admin charge, no transfer charge and no pickup charge, and the figure is not trimmed on the day.
There is still finance on my LHD. Can I sell?
Yes. We clear the lender within the deal and send you what remains. In negative equity? We can still buy: you cover the shortfall at handover and the loan is closed in a single transaction.
How long is your figure good for?
Seven days from the moment we send it, so there is time to think it over.
Where in the UK do you pick up?
London, Oxford, the Home Counties and the big cities, including Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Glasgow, all at no cost. Mainland Europe is possible too, so if the car sits in Spain, France or another country, say where.
My LHD is still over on the continent. Is that a problem?
No. Pickups from mainland Europe can be arranged as well as UK ones. Give us the location with your details and we will plan it.
What should be ready at handover?
The logbook (a UK V5C or the papers from the issuing country), ID with your photo, every key and whatever service record exists.
